Presenting: Volume 02 - Consider This an Invitation.

Interestingly enough this theme didn’t really come together until the end. We started with the idea of this issue being an invitation, and everything slowly bloomed from there. The ‘Third Spaces’ idea really took over the meat of this issue but overall the true theme is connection. The world really hasn’t had a break since COVID. It’s been nonstop chaos and it feels like we’ve lost a lot of ‘goodness’ in our lives. Economically, politically, environmentally, there’s just not much to look forward to, or at least that’s what they want you to think. Our current political environment thrives off of our polarization, and our fear and hatred of each other. It thrives off the conversations we don’t have, off the reclusiveness we’ve grown accustomed to.

There is hope though, in this never ending bog of bullshit we seem to be surrounded by, there is hope. This hope comes from connection with the people around you, from real deep connection, from actually understanding what makes up any given person. We all have opinions, feelings, we all make choices we don’t really want to have to make, we’re all human. So, long story short, the theme of Vol. 02 - Consider this an Invitation, is connection. Throughout, you’ll find places around the city to connect, you’ll learn about real people and I hope you’ll find a connection with them.
