We are Shoot the Breeze Magazine!

Shoot the Breeze Magazine is about connecting people. On any given day you may pass by a hundred different human beings, each with a unique story, a unique set of events that have built them into the person they are today, We all have different backgrounds, different experiences, different traumas, joy, dreams, and wants. In passing we often don't personify these human beings though, they are their title, their situation, their issues. Think about the last time you were frustrated while driving, I'm sure you didn't see that "asshole in the Subaru" as a person, they were the actions they took, and you probably couldn't even see their face. This goes so much past driving though, the CEO of your company, the barista at the coffee shop, the person with a sign asking for help when you get off the highway. Your favorite musician, Twitch streamer, Youtuber, movie star, author, teacher, coach, parent. Everyone has a unique story, a unique set of events that have built them into the person they are today

We’re a veteran-owned company that believes in HONESTY, POSITIVITY and EDUCATION.

meet the founder

Hi, I’m Brandon Tellez — founder, editor, writer, photographer, and everything else right now. Shoot the Breeze was born from a deep love for storytelling and a commitment to spotlighting the people, places, and ideas that make Oklahoma City vibrant.

After over nine years in the Air Force and four deployments, I shifted from military service to creative service — using my background in media, design, and community-building to create something meaningful and accessible. With experience in everything from photography and public relations to web design and cultural journalism, I bring a hands-on, heart-forward approach to every issue.

This magazine is for the curious, the creative, the overlooked, and the everyday legends. Whether I’m interviewing local artists, investigating education in Oklahoma, or spotlighting voices you might not hear elsewhere — I want you to feel connected, inspired, and maybe even challenged.

Thanks for being here. Let’s keep the conversation going.
